Vice President of Sports, Grupo Televisa
In his current role as Vice President of Sports for Grupo Televisa, the largest Spanish language Media Company based in Mexico City, Yon de Luisa is responsible for all sports programming and broadcasting, including Televisa Deportes on Open Air TV, TDN with two 24-hour sport channels on Pay TV, LIGA MX’s Club America, and Estadio Azteca.
A native of Mexico City, de Luisa graduated from Universidad Iberomaericana with a degree in Civil Engineering, before pursuing his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. Before his involvement in the sports industry, de Luisa worked for over a decade in the finance sector, first trading at the Stock Exchange in Mexico City, later managing consumer credit in Banamex (now Citi), and finally as a General Manager.
For the past 13 years, de Luisa has been involved in managing soccer teams, in roles including Operating Director, Vice-President, and CEO of Club America, Club Necaxa, and Estadio Azteca. Over the past ten years he has also been involved in FIFA and CONCACAF events as a General Coordinator, and as the Director of the Local Organizing Committee for the FIFA U17 World Cup Mexico™ in 2011. During the past two years, de Luisa has had an active role in the return of National Football League (NFL) matches played in Mexico City.
