Managing Director, United Bid Committee 2026
Jim Brown is the Managing Director of the United Bid Committee and brings a wealth of relevant, front-line experience of immense value to the team.
Since his return to the Unites States in 2010 and the establishment of his event consultancy, JBC International, Brown has worked with some of the largest major sports and event organizations, including FIFA, the IOC, the NFL, the International Rugby Board, and others. In this time, he also supported the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2011 – 17, the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada, and Copa America Centenario USA 2016. He is the Chairman of the Professional Refereeing Organization – PRO.
In his most recent, full-time role with FIFA, Brown was the Executive Director / Competitions Division from 2003 to 2010, handling the delivery of all FIFA Competitions. He was responsible for the overall planning and event management for 11 categories of competition and more than 40 world football events, including and most notably the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ and the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa ™. He also oversaw the technical departments of Refereeing and the Technical Study Group.
His vast experience of major event organization includes the Olympic Games (Salt Lake 2000 and Sydney 2000), Major League Soccer, and the 1994 FIFA World Cup™ in the USA. He hopes to use his organizational, team building and communication skills to develop a hosting plan that meets the challenges of hosting the biggest World Cup ever.
An American citizen, Brown was born and raised overseas. He now lives in Park City, Utah.
